Meet little 5 month old Jarileth .
Her case was brought to our attention by Sister Veronica Kim our contact at the town of Palmar in Santa Elena Province.
Jarileth suffers from an extreme case of spina bifida as one can see by the photo.
She had surgery this past week at Roberto Gilbert Hospital in Guayaquil.
While the doctors are unsure at this point whether she will be able to walk, this surgery will lessen any chance of infection and will allow her to sit and move comfortably which she was unable to do before.
Mom is very grateful to the doctors and to HKIE for helping her child.
