This is 3 month old Aithana from the Quito area. She had multiple osteomas (benign, slow growing bone tumors) which if left untreated would have caused a severe malformation of her skull.
She underwent a 3 hour surgery and several days in the hospital, and now will have an opportunity for a normal life.
