This is 10 month old Sofie from the Quito area.
It was discovered that two arteries did not close 2 months after birth. This was causing breathing problems and putting a lot stress on her heart.
This past week Sofie underwent a 4 hour surgery at Hospital Metropolitano in Quito. Sofie came through with flying colors and can now live a normal life.
Her family is very grateful to, Hospital Metropolitano, Fundación Metrofraternidad and HKIE for working together to save their little baby girl's life!
