February was a good month for 11 of our HKIE children.
Two eye surgeries were performed: 16 year old Jesus at Hospital Metropolitano and 10 year old Loja iat Roberto Gilbert in Guayaquil.
Roberto Gilbert also was the site of 2 hernia surgeries: 6 month old Vladimir and 2 year old Leonela. The doctors there also operated on 11 month old Monserrat who had hydrocephaly.
10 Year old Gabriela had her lip hemangioma repaired at Hospital del Rio by Dr. Pablo Salamea.
2 special wheelchairs were provided: 10 year old Andy and 16 year old Erick, both with cerebral palsy.
A leg prothesis was provided to 16 year old Alex, who lost his leg below his knee.
And lastly ferulas were provided to 10 year old Amy, in order to prvent here legs from contractin from her cerebral palsy.
