HKIE was contacted by Fundación Metrofraternidad "Salvemos Vidas" in Quito with the request to help with the surgeries of two children.
First was Maria Belen, a young 15 year old in her second year of high school. She was suffering from severe abdominal pain which restricted any activity or studies. It was discovered she had a problem with her colon.
After a 4 hour surgery and 10 days in the hospital this young lady will now be able to get back to her normal teenage life!
Our second child was Alice, a little two year old suffering from a birth defect to her heart.
She lives in Quito with her 28 year old parents who are furthering their studies but do not have full time employment. The cardiac surgery took 5 hours.
After 3 days in ICU and 7 more in the hospital, the doctors declared her well and able to live a normal life.
Two more children, both suffering, will now have healthy, normal lives!
