This is Belen, a young girl who lives in the Otavalo area. She has been having trouble with her vision. HKIE had her examined by an eye surgeon (Dr Rodriguez) who also has worked on Tupac and Erick in Quito.
It has been determined that she will need surgery for strabisimus (lazy eye). HKIE is in the process of setting up surgery in Quito or possibly in Ibarra....we will keep you updated when she receives her surgery.
Belen's surgery will be paid for from the funds raised at the HKIE fundraiser event in Otavalo this past October at Linda Jane Blizzard's lovely home.
Thank to the support from the people who attended the event, Belen will have normal vision in the near future!
