This is Franchesca, a little 6 year old before her surgery. Thanks to Dr. Fernando Quintana Jedermann and Dr.Pablo Javier Salamea Molina she had her first surgery this past Friday in Guayaquil to create a new ear. Franchesca had called Dr. Pablo and asked if he couldn't "please, make me pretty"! Who could refuse such a request?
Dr Quintana and Dr Pablo donated their services and HKIE paid for the discounted hospital costs.
She will receive a second surgery in a few months. Thanks to the HKIE supporters, we can continue to help these children lead normal, productive lives.
Speaking of normal, Romina was wearing a little earring in her new ear and was so very proud and happy. Those at the Salinas fundraiser were able to hear her thank you speech in which she said she was so very grateful to each and every HKIE supporter for giving her a new life. She considers you all "family" and sends kisses to everyone!
