The 101ST child helped by Helping Kids In Ecuador (HKIE)
Evelyn, a one year old from the rural community of Alausi, will have a cleft lip surgery done by Dr Pablo Javier Salamea Molina at Hospital Del Rio on the morning of March 2nd.
In 6 months Evelyn will have a cleft palate surgeon done by Dr. Pablo at Hospital Del Rio.
Evelyn's parents have to walk two hours carrying Evelyn from their village to reach a town to catch a bus for the four hour bus ride to Cuenca. During this morning's initial visit with Dr Pablo, the parents were amazed that this surgery was possible at such a first class hospital and asked several times how it was possible at no cost to them! They were assured by Dr Pablo that all cost would be paid by HKIE. They are so graciously thankful to Dr Pablo, and all involved in making this miracle possible.
