On a recent visit to Cotacachi, HKIE picked up 3 new patients.
This is Tupac. This cute little 5 year old from the Cotacachi area was born with Strabisimus which prevents him from being able to focus either of his eyes.
Due to this condition, his mother tells us he has frequent headaches. Image Tupac going to go to school and trying to read with this condition. What quality of life would he have without getting his eyes repaired?
Tupac has his first appointment with an opthamologist at Hospital Metropolitano in Quito on July 5th.
Hospital Metropolitano is a first rate private hospital. For Tupac's family, the cost for possibly two surgeries would not be affordable for them.
All of us at HKIE and our supporters are thrilled to be able to provide the medical care he needs to have a chance to lead a normal life.
